Dynamic diplomats go gold, launch new business ventures 

Hip-hop heroes Cam'ron and Juelz Santana launch businesses in New York & Columbus 

New York, NY --+ No one can accuse the members of Roc-A-Fella Records supergroup the Diplomats of not being competitive, both with other acts and, believe it or not, between themselves. Crew leader Cam'ron has a platinum-selling solo album,   COME HOME WITH ME, plus a popular cologne ("Oh Boy"), a soon-to-be-launched clothing line, Dipset Apparel, and a certified gold debut album with DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY. As the Diplomats prepare for the release of     Juelz Santana's debut solo CD, FROM ME TO U, on August 19th, the pair's good-natured rivalry has extended into new entrepreneurial ventures. Cam'ron has invested in CLUB ENVY, a nightclub located on Main St. in downtown Columbus, Ohio, while Juelz Santana has opened SANTANA'S TOWN, an innovative boutique clothing store showcasing his original designs on Amsterdam Ave. in Harlem. 

"It's all politics at the end of the day," notes Cam'ron, explaining why he, like his good friend Santana, feels the need to continually delve into fresh entrepreneurial projects. "Whether it's music or sports, the competitiveness is the same. That's why I named one of my albums SPORTS, DRUGS AND ENTERTAINMENT. Whether you hustle, play basketball or you're in the entertainment business, all three are competitive." Despite their respective forays into the club circuit, these enterprising impresarios haven't forgotten about fashioning cutting-edge music. Cam'ron's new disc, PURPLE HAYES, is presently scheduled for release on December 16th, and the on-the-go artist recently had a hand in remixes of both R. Kelly's "Snake" and Bonecrusher's "Never Scared." Santana remains active with the Diplomats' business matters, recently being appointed vice president of the group's label, Diplomat Records, while also preparing for the premiere of FROM ME TO U, which, not coincidentally, features the song "Santana's Town" as its first single.
