AMERICA 2003:
The War on Terrorism or Highway Robbery
By Fred Kelly Okay!
First, we were hunting down the savage Osama Bin-Laden in retaliation for the horrific crimes committed against our country in September of 2001.
After several months of dead-ends, empty threats, false leads and shabby government intelligence, our leaders decide to wage war with the next best savage: Saddam Hussein. Enter the war on Iraq. To all outward appearances, we (the US) were stepping in to dethrone a ruthless tyrant, and to liberate the Iraqi population from this evil villain. After all, we are the world's police force, right? Well, next month will mark the second year anniversary of that dreadful day, and still no sign of Osama.
What's up with that, you ask? I submit that, yes, retaliation was necessary because 9/11 was a definite act of war.
But, whom do we retaliate against? The neighboring country? A cousin of a girlfriend of an uncle's best friend? That's like holding a grandmother hostage and killing off cousins one by one until some relative rats the culprit out. The biggest problem with that thinking is this: Saddam and Osama are not related. However, they do practice the same form of religion.
So, are we to believe that if a Church of Christ member loses his mind and attacks a local school, the entire Church of Christ should be held accountable? No, that's not the way it works. You don't bomb the next available Church of Christ member or practicing Muslim that lives two doors down. I believe the entire Iraq situation was based on robbery. Oil. Black-Gold. Texas-Tea..... I submit that the motivation for taking control of Iraq was not to free the Iraqi people. It was a corporate takeover, at the highest level. Our nation's leader was born into an oil-rich family. He was in and around the "oil game" all of his life, so it's not out of the realm of reality that the oil in Iraq could be the real reason for the war on Iraq. Now, I'm not a hater, though, our leader does have a little game. He has (almost) successfully pulled the wool over the eyes of an entire nation by convincing the country that war against Iraq was the right course of action. But, for what reason? Why do we have technology available that allows a missile to pinpoint a single objective in the midst of other targets, but we are unable to locate the ringleader of one of the most ruthless assassination squads (al-queda) in world history? And then, because we can't seem to find this guy, we assault an unrelated country that happens to share the same religious beliefs, and also has one of the richest oil deposits on the globe.
Highway Robbery.
10 REASONS THAT I MISS MR. CLINTON
If the worst that our nation's leader does is get a little oral action on the side and fib about it to protect his family's integrity. If that is the worst of his crimes, yet he manages to balance the budget, provide jobs for nearly everyone and create a healthcare plan that insures the entire country, why isn't he still in office? Not only did he do all of the above, he was a smooth ambassador to the world community. He didn't trot across the globe like a spoiled rich brat, trying to bully the world. Everybody knows that we got money and weapons, dog. I miss Mr. Clinton because he was a pimp. That's the kind of smooth operator that we need running our country. A nation full of pimps. Feel me? We don't need a rich bratty-type dude in office, 'cause that represents the minority of people in the US. The majority rules! At least that's the way we were taught in school about how a democracy works. Were those all lies too Mr. Bush?
CLINTON for PRESIDENT!!!!
The Goodphella aka FK, out.
